Possible lag fix coming soon

I found an issue today that was causing examine information for the spells on your hotbars to be fetched more often than necessary. It's very difficult to measure the impact of this change on my developer machine without testing it in a raid environment. Hopefully this will fix the lag issue that was introduced around GU43/44. Look for the hotfix sometime early next week.

That's great news! I hope it helps as I was lamenting the lag in raid last night.

Thanks for keeping on things!

QFE! =)

I just talked with Kirstie and this modification is being tested by QA today. If it passes, it should be hotfixed tomorrow along with a database modification I made last week that should speed up the time it takes for some zones to come up.

I noticed in raid last night that the 'lag' that I had in terms of being able to queue up spells was less than it had been, but not back to where it used to be. I used to be able to reliably hit buttons in a series and have them fire off when the previous spell was complete. After GU43/44 it was almost to the point where I had to wait until a spell completed casting before I hit another button, otherwise the spell would not cast. I still get that, but less often (maybe 1/5th of the time). As I play a coercer, anything that interrupts Perpetuality is bad.

My experience during a raid last night was pretty good. I didn't have any noticable lag. I'm sure there are plenty of other places we can make improvements though and I'll keep looking for them.

Greg,

I have noticed the lag issue's getting less and less and I am appreciative of this.

I did notice SoS is getting lag that it hadn't had before.

If I happen to get in game this evening I will /bug it.
